From the moment you drive into the “secret Valley” road that takes you off the N2 at Hawick, you enter a special place where time slows down. On opening the garden door into Wildekrans, you step into a Green tranquility where old and new blend, where your comfort is prioritised against the solid foundations and warmth of the Wildekrans homestead. Gracious bedrooms marry history, comfort and works of art. The amenities are all in place and the hospitality is plentiful. Sit down meals are thoughtfully conceived and delicious, prepared by Anna and her team, using fresh local ingredients. An honesty bar caters for stronger tastes and offers a selection of wines from the area. These are also enjoyed with fireside chats in the cosy lounge area. We have visited Wildekrans on 4 different occasions and we always look forward to the next opportunity to explore the garden and art. - 16 Oct 2023

We stayed at the Wildekrans Country House whilst hiking the Green Mountain Trail with a group of friends. A beautiful country house with a very special host catering to everyone’s needs. I’m a vegetarian and the meals were outstanding, from our sit down meals to our packed lunch boxes - so much thought. Our rooms were spacious and so comfy. The weather was not ideal but every fire was continually stoked and a little treat having a hot water bottle in our bed each night. Wildekrans is surrounded by a beautiful garden, many sculptures and amazing artwork. We are planning the Blue Mountain hike next and will certainly be enjoying the hospitality at Wildekrans a second time. - 2 Nov 2023
