Four days of luxury slackpacking

How we plan your adventure

Arrive previous night at Wildekrans Country House, Houw Hoek village, between 16h00 and 16h30, park car, welcome tea/drinks, wine tasting, and trail briefing, dinner, and overnight.

Mountain profile and elevation

P.S you’ll be happy to hear that this is the profile of the mountain and not the trail.

While we highly recommend that our clients first walk our flagship four day Green Mountain Trail (60km), we also offer a three day Blue Mountain Trail (50km) Kogelberg experience and a two day weekend walking experience.

The Green Mountain Trail starts with check in on a Monday afternoon between 16h00 and 17h00, check out on a Friday after lunch. As this is a working farm experience we walk on week days so that hikers get the full experience of the trail.

What people say about the Green Mountain Trail

Luxury Hike

We have just had a superb few days of hiking, learning, relaxing and indulging – a fantastic way to relax and unwind while exploring some of the Cape’s most beautiful mountains and fynbos. We walked 60km in 4 days under the guidance of Jeff and Nancy – both passionate and incredibly knowledgeable about the environment. We learnt so much each day while walking and were then spoilt with delicious homely food and beautiful accommodation. Alison and her staff attended to our every need and made us feel so welcome and at home. The wine tastings and lunches were superb.

Green Mountain Trail

The Green Mountain Trail was a great way to see four different areas around the Elgin Valley. Jeffrey and Patrick were very knowledgeable guides and their information about the area as well as plants and insects was amazing. Going through the different areas of fynbos and learning about the effects of fires on them, was great. The first day was long and strenuous in parts but beautiful. The following days were thankfully shorter! Definitely recommended.
